The Godolphin-raced two-year-old gelding Barbeque did well in winning here on debut. He settled nicely in sixth place, one off the rails, before improving nearing the home turn. He challenged at the 200m and then battled on a bit too well to score in a photo. The John Sargenttrained Easy Go Easy Win raced in sixth place on the rails, angled across heels at the 200m and then came with a strong run for a lateclosing second, looking somewhat unlucky. The Chris Waller-trained colt Sambro was smartly away from his wide barrier (11) and soon crossed to the lead. He was challenged approaching the home turn but kept fighting back gamely in the straight for a close up third.
