Against moderate opposition last year’s Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner She Will Reign had no difficulty whatsoever, racing clear then easing down to win as she liked. Rider Ben Melham elected to go forward early but they didn't lead clearly until the 800m. She cruised to the 200m where Melham gave her a shake and bounded clear then Melham dropped his hands and let her coast to the line. Acqume tracked the winner into the straight and tried hard but was never going to catch her to finish second from Limbo Soul who nabbed a hard ridden late dab into third.
