Pat Farrell-trained filly Alliterate is now a winner of three of her last four starts and she ran out an impressive winner here. She began well and was then eased when deep from barrier seven to settle in seventh place, behind a good pace. Greg Ryan took her along the rails from the 600m, got an ideal split rounding the home turn, dashed to the front halfway down the straight and then drew away to win easily. Favourite Spright had a nice trip in fourth place, got through at the home turn to challenge on straightening. She then fought well for a good second, having no chance with the winner. Sugarparma enjoyed a good trip from her inside barrier (1) racing in third place on the rails. She got an inside run to briefly hit the front at the home turn and then held on quite well to take the minor placing.
