The Joe Cleary-trained filly Lucy Rose is now a winner of two of her three starts and she put up a good performance in winning here. She was quickly away from her outside barrier (12) and did well in soon crossing to the lead. She then settled nicely, grabbed a break on straightening and then held on well to win well. Princess Lottie had a nice trip in third place on the rails from her inside barrier (1), before going to second on turning for home. She then kept fighting on well to hold that position to the post. The Gerald Ryan-trained colt Boyish raced outside the leader and eventual winner (Lucy Rose), was under pressure on straightening and then held on to take the minor place in a sound effort on debut.
