A good quinella result for the local Kim Waugh stable. Supreme Effort was smartly away from his wide barrier (12) and settled in sixth place, one off the rails, following a steady pace. He moved up well (deep) nearing the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and then fought back well to score a narrow but good win. His stablemate His Majesty went back from his wide barrier (14) and was last in the early stages. He made a wide move on passing the 600m, fanned deep at the home turn and ran on really well in the sprint home for a very good second.
