Miss Appleton flew the gates (barrier 10) to lead early however her rider Alysha Collett allowed La Fille En Jeu to take over nearer the fence and drop into a perfect trail. Past the 1000m these two edged clear of the chasers, with Miss Appleton in the leader's slipstream. With 600m to run Collett pushed Miss Appleton up alongside the lead and at the top of the straight found the front. Half way down the home straight, Collett got to work and they broke clear by two lengths at which point the rider just kept her going to the line to score her first stakes win. Summer's Day had a lovely run in fifth, saving ground all the way to the home straight. At the 300m she got a tight run through, one off the fence, and went after the winner but the post arrived too soon. Mighty Solomon sat one out and one back as they reached the top of the straight, poked through at the 300m and ran on well, nabbing third in a head-bob. Maybe Miami sat third to the home straight, looked a danger at the 200m but lost third in the last stride.
