The Listed 3yo feature was run at a solid clip and saw a North Island trained filly in Wafer bury her rivals the closing stages after settling down in the rear trio. Wafer had won a maiden at Kumara fresh up and made the class rise here with aplomb to win by just under a length in 1:20.51 for the 1335m. It was the second best time of the day. Halleloojah had set the pace and got company at times before shrugging them off near the home turn only to be bombed late. Johnny Jones trailed the speed and fought well the inside for third. Margarita Mover was a good fourth after settling in the rear trio and she should be winning another race soon. Princess Davone was the flop in finishing sixth after starting a clear favourite. The filly never seemed to grab the bit at any stage and Gore being a tight track that also did not seem to suit her either. She warrants another chance when next time seen out.
