He is now in line for a 250K bonus should he win either the Wellington Cup (3200M) or Auckland Cup (3200m) and will pocket a million dollars should he capture the hattrick or Cupstrick. The fact he has won on all types of footing makes the weather irrelevant in his drive to snare a bonus or two. The runner up Southern Sav was game in defeat having been back and wide then making a sharp move to lead clearly 1000m out. He only got caught late and was five lengths ahead of the third finisher Benzini that ran a good race under his clear topweight of 59kg.
