Annie Is All Class In Ambrosoli

3 minute read

The fairytale run of avid greyhound participants Brian and Sue Barton continued on Saturday night when Wyndra All Class commonly known to them as "Annie" added The Group Three Ambrosoli to her Group One N.S.W's Futurity win.

Wyndra All Class was simply her namesake showing "all class"on Saturday night with blistering early box speed to lead off box one.She gave her rivals absolutely no chance of picking her up down the back straight. She stopped the clock in 29.44 as the $4.60 second equal favourite, beating an impressive field that included second placegetter, Melbourne Cup winner Yachi Bale.

"Annie" had been impressive in the lead up to the Group Three Ambrosoli winning a heat of The Golden Easter Egg defeating Panama Pepper and Connections in 29.72. Before being a touch unlucky in the Semi Final meeting the likes of Baby Jaycee the eventual Golden Easter Egg favourite running a gallant third.

The $25,000 winners cheque took her prizemoney total to $167,310 with an overall total of 26 starts for 12 wins with 7 minor placings. The Ambrosoli win increased her value as a brood bitch after her racing career adding to her already impressive race resume that includes a Group One National Futurity Final which she won at Wentworth Park also.

The scenes may not have been as emotional for Brian and Sue Barton as when Wyndra All Class won the futurity, however the loving couple appeared together on track again in their lucky spot up in the Wentworth Park grandstand to cheer on their golden girl once again.

Sue's continued tenacity to fight against cancer has not only been remarkable but emotional for all that know the Barton's. A documentary put together beautifully by The Dogs website gave all an insight to Brian and Sue's journey and their beautiful Canowindra Kennels property.

Through the most difficult time of their lives little "Annie" has showed the heart and tenacity to win much like the strength that Sue Barton has showed in her couragoues battle. Like her race name "Annie" is certainly all class. Let's hope a few more wins are to come for the Barton's and their super talented bitch Wyndra All Class.
