The merit of the win: "He doesn't really like those firm tracks so he's in at the right time of year but to get it done on a heavy track, late in the day that's chopped up, is just another tick to his name.

"He (Childs) cuddled him a long way out and he's the sort of horse you have to be kind to, Alex Rae's horse is a nice wet tracker and it came up on our inside to challenge and our horse toughed it out to the line and was strong through the line, he couldn't be pulled up till well into the back straight so hopefully there's a bit more in the tank to keep going.

Future prospects: "He's doing exactly what we need him to do to build his rating and for us to map out a plan for him into the spring and attack some of those races where we'll probably find some Group One horses starting their preparations but there's no reason why he can't measure up in a race like a Toorak Handicap.

Winning Jockey: Jordan Childs

The race: "I was always confident I was on the right horse, I learned a bit about him from riding him last start and the race worked out how I wanted it. I was able to get some cover and then just build into it when I wanted to. He's a horse that doesn't quicken up a lot , he builds through his gears and then maintains a really strong gallop.

Future prospects: "He's definitely a nice horse on the rise. He got through it today but I reckon he'll be better on a dry surface.
