Will Davison is looking for his first Supercars win since 2022 and has set his sights on doing it at the same venue he snapped his last winless streak: Perth.

Supercars racer Will Davison is the last Ford driver to have won in Perth and he intends to keep it that way.

After coming second to pull off a two-three finish with teammate Anton De Pasquale in New Zealand, 41-year-old Davison is refusing to go anything less than full-throttle when he arrives at Wanneroo Racecourse for the Perth SuperSprint.

The two-time Bathurst 100 winner is no stranger to the West Australian track.

After first reaching the Perth podium in 2012, Davison has notched four wins and six podium finishes at the racecourse.

In his maiden year at Dick Johnson Racing, Davison spectacularly claimed a 2022 race victory to snap a near six-year winless run, after a controversial penalty denied Tickford's Cameron Waters.

Victory has remained elusive since the sport's final hit-out at Pukehoke Park in that same year, but Davison says he's aiming for top spot.

"Mood's good. It's an important time just to get the vibes back up, get everyone to really believe in themselves because we know what we're capable of," Davison said.

"We have just got to keep building. I love racing in Perth.

"I had a pretty wild victory in 2012 with the old Perth surface, which was renowned to be very, very low grip, high degradation -always created an amazing spectacle.

"It is a reasonably short lap, but full of character, full of some interesting corners."

Sitting in 10th heading into New Zealand after a less-than-ideal start to the season, the Dick Johnson Racing duo have put together a stunning turnaround to jump to fourth in the team standings.

De Pasquale claimed the most points after two third placings in New Zealand to earn the Jason Richard Trophy, resulting in a move up into 12th on the ladder.

Asked what would be crucial for a podium finish on the weekend, De Pasquale did not beat around the bush.

"A fast car will be the key," he said.

Davison sits in ninth place on 489 points, while red-hot Triple Eight duo Will Brown (809 points) and Broc Feeney (738) lead the competition.
