Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Randwick, Caulfield, Morphettville, Newcastle, Ballina, Sunshine Coast, Pinjarra, Nhill and Esperance.

RANDWICK: RACE 7 @ 5:20 PM

Doomben Cup winner HUETOR (1) returns from a 45-day let-up and drops sharply in grade for this. Motored late from the outside gate when a solid seventh over 2000m in the G1 Champions Stks at Flemington on November 11. Has good figures this course and trip and can easily bounce back to winning form. Group 2 winner BABY RIDER (9) went out hard from the wide gate when a tenacious winner of the LR Frank Underwood (ATC) Cup over 2000m at this track on December 9. Drops sharply in weight but meets some stronger types. Group 1 winner LION'S ROAR (5) has been a model of consistency this time in and due for a change of luck. Rattled late from back in the pack when third over 1600m in the G2 The Ingham at this track on December 9. A repeat of latest should see him go close. Group 1 placegetter STOCKMAN (2) lines up on the back of a plugging ninth over 1600m at this track on December 16. Extra trip suits as well as a bit of sting out of the ground.
SELECTIONS: Huetor to win.

CAULFIELD: RACE 8 @ 5:40 PM

TORONTO TERRIER (9) was a strong winner when last seen at Sandown-Lakeside, running on powerfully to score by 2 lengths despite sitting wide and against the pattern of the day. Drawn 1 here, he should get a good spot just behind the lead and drops 4.5kg. The runner up from that race won here last week. RIVERPLATE (8) won first up in good time last preparation and can be hard to catch when he get his own way. SO RISQUE (3) is racing well and finds a similar race to last start where he won well. LOUNGE BAR RUBI (7) presents third-up with each-way claims.
SELECTIONS: Toronto Terrier to win.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 12:57 PM

DANCING STORM (1) made a promising debut here last start. Will appreciate stepping out the extra 100m and worth noting that the blinkers get applied for the first time. Expect him to take plenty of beating with leading rider Jake Toeroek piloting again. Stablemate MONDELLO (6) is a a filly by Grunt stepping out on debut. Has shown positive signs at the jump outs and the booking of Kayla Crowther reads favourably. Don't take lightly. COLMAR (2) did a fair job on debut last time out here. Has upside and can run a bold race. RIVER CLYDE (4) is another debutant. Respect any market support.
SELECTIONS: Dancing Storm the one to beat.

BEAUMONT (NEWCASTLE): RACE 7 @ 5:45 PM

KING'S DUTY (4) only went down narrowly first up and is open to good improvement. Key booking with Bullock switching aboard and he should lead from the inside. NOSEY PARKER (2) resumes back in grade and fresh form is reliable to date. Recent trials suggest a bold run fresh. ROTORUA (10) another who is more than capable and has to be included off the soft draw.
SELECTIONS: King's Duty win

BALLINA: RACE 3 @ 2:56 PM

DARKENED DESTINY (2) was prominent from the outset and fought on for second last start over 1350m at Ipswich, making it two minor placings in a row. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Finds a suitable race and can get the job done. ROTHESAY'S RUBY (11) has drawn well and comes up the main danger following some fair efforts in her maiden preparation. SPECIALTIE (6) hasn't been far away in recent efforts and with even luck should run well.
SELECTIONS: Darkened Destiny to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 8 @ 5:43 PM

BETTER YET (4) had been threatening here before delivering the 58 win from the speed. In a top metro barn and Thompson stays aboard. Peaks now and can win again. DAINTREE DIVA (8) raced well here at the back of the previous campaign and was quickly back on track winning second-up over this distance at Ipswich at this level. Darws for a soft run and should go close. SET ABLAZE (11) spiked his figures beaten a nose here in the 58 and deserves consideration on that form.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Better Yet.

PINJARRA: RACE 4 @ 3:05 PM

ROCK THIS TOWN (2) bumped into a good race at Ascot last time out and looks to have found a winnable assignment this time. Back in trip suits and he has the pace to cross to the outside fence from the draw. First two runs this campaign were superb and that should see him getting the job done. LONSDALEITE (4) stormed over the top to win at Bunbury last time out, making it two wins from his last 3 outings. His record at 1000m is a little concerning, but the claim gets him in nicely at the weights and the stable is absolutely flying of late. Won't be far away. KEEP ATTACKING (3) is undefeated first-up and has come into this with two trials under his belt. Never tried over this trip but he does possess good early speed and can make his presence felt on resumption. OLY'S CHOICE (1) has won 2/3 first-up and is right in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Rock This Town.

NHILL: RACE 3 @ 2:41 PM

BOADICEA (5) was placed at Swan Hill three runs back and subsequent efforts have been fair for a race of this nature. On best form he looks well placed from the soft draw. GAMADALE NIP (2) should be at his top now following three runs from a spell. Is not meeting an overly strong affair here. Should run well. TWO KAY KLICK (3) was safely held in a tougher contest last time. Is far better placed here and improvement is on the cards.
SELECTIONS: Back Boadicea to win.

ESPERANCE: RACE 4 @ 4:00 PM

SYMPHONY IN RED (10) had an excuse for finishing out of the money last time out at Belmont in August and was put aside for a break. She has had a quiet trial to help get ready for her fresh-up assignment and will also find things easier in the country. Even from a wide gate, she will be among the hardest to beat. NITRO FRED (5) worked hard outside the leader here last time out and has a much better draw to use this time. He has plenty of pace and with an easier trip in transit here, he should be right in the finish. LOST SMILE (2) was a good winner here fresh up when clearing his maiden status and his two runs since then have also been very strong. He should not be underestimated in this. BONDI BUBBLES (3) has thrived since being campaigned on this circuit and has half a kilo less to carry than his last run thanks to a claim. Stick with him.
SELECTIONS: Nitro Fred each way.
