Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for February 20.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Wyong, Benalla and Townsville.
WYONG: RACE 2 @ 1:50 PM
DETENDU (1) smart gelding at his top now after finishing runner-up at his two runs in town. Overhauled late by the classy DUCASSE at Warwick Farm over 1200m on February 7. Gets control today and should prove too slick for these around this track with the blinkers added. LUNA FIELD (3) fitter after two career runs. Went out hard from the inside gate before tiring late when second over 1000m at Gosford on February 1. Fitter now and gets the blinkers added. Can finish in the minor money. EASTERN FRONT (10) third-up for this and back in trip after holding on well when fourth over 1200m here on January 28. Shouldn't be a maiden for long. NIBIDANO (6) Nicconi gelding resuming from a lengthy spell. Had two sharp trials in readiness for this and McEvoy takes the ride from the good gate.
SELECTIONS: Detendu to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Wyong Computer Card.
BENALLA: RACE 2 @ 1:30 PM
BOWER BOY (4) settled just behind the speed then let down well but found one better on debut last start over 1000m at Wangaratta. Ideally placed out to this trip and clearly looks the one to beat. MONTANA STATE (2) impressed first-up last time out over 1100m at Stony Creek, working home well to get up for second at his first run for four months. That was a career-best figure so from a good gate again he is right in the calculations. MUTSUHITO (3) is racing well without threatening. Placed 2/4 at six furlongs so he is in the mix. Godolphin's MONTEREY (12) was underwhelming on debut at Colac but she can improve over this slightly longer trip. TOWER OF TUSCANY (8) is a debutant by Exosphere from a Mossman mare. Both siblings to race are winners. Watch for market confidence.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Bower Boy.
TOWNSVILLE: RACE 8 @ 4:10 PM
LET'S RIDE (9) returned to the winner's stall saluting comfortably in a 58. Ran her best figure and a top hoop stays aboard. Draws handy and remains down in the weights. The lightly-raced galloper can take the next step. COUNTER COMMAND (2) had been threatening before delivering the 65 win at Cairns as a short-priced favourite. Keeps improving and the 3kg claim brings him right into it. SEALION (1) won this grade/distance easily following the nose defeat prior. Has a better gate and briefly freshened is a chance. ALTAR BOY (7) peaks and rates well. He also has claims.
SELECTIONS: Let's Ride appeals most.
