Analysis and suggested bets for nine-race card at Gawler on Saturday.
We look to shoot the lights out late at Gawler on Saturday with both our plays featuring in the back half of the meeting.
The bet365 best of the day comes in race six (6) where the W Clarken & N O'Shea-trained Shooting For Stars looks set to play a major role after producing an eye-catching finish first up.
Sure to improve with the fresh Parks run under her belt, the four-year-old Shooting To Win mare will appreciate stepping out the extra 200m, to a distance (1200m) where all three career wins have come over.
Drawn sticky (10), I suspect 1.5kg claiming apprentice Ben Price will be conservative from the draw early, before cutting loose with a strong closing effort and be climbing over their backs late.
Another one I'm keen on comes two races later (8) and it's in-form five-year-old Shootoose from the ever-improving Aaron Bain & Ned Taylor stable.
Also a product of Shooting To Win, Shootoose has had a new lease on life since joining the newly formed partnership of Bain & Taylor, producing career peaks in his last two starts.
Although he's already put two stylish wins together in his last two starts, I think he's still got more under the bonnet. Winning rider Jacob Opperman should land in a favourable position from the low barrier (3) and will have plenty to offer when the whips are cracking.
