Midweek racing from Sandown-Hillside and Warwick Farm and we’ve got a horse for your Racing and Sports blackbook from each.
Sandown-Hillside Race 4- Caste
This is a handy filly who had jumped out very well for this first up run and she did a great job, coming from the back off a solid tempo to get up on the line. The R&S speed figure was good and while the only other 1300m race on the day was a two-year-old open, they've smashed the clock in comparison to that. This filly wasn't beaten far at listed level before a spell and she looks one that will just relish getting over a trip. By Irish stallion Sir Prancealot, who the R&S breeding database will show has the highest winning percentage (min 10 runners) at 2300-2399m, getting to 2000m+ will suit and perhaps a race like the Group 1 Australiasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville will be on the agenda.
Warwick Farm Race 2- Shipshape
This Godolphin three-year-old should be breaking his maiden very shortly. He was a sectional mark up at Gosford when charging into third and justified that with a strong performance here, getting off the heels of the favourite in the straight and was just unable to reel her in. They gapped third and the overall time was nearly a second faster than the benchmark 78 over the same distance on the day which reads very well. A Timeform rating of 90 will win nearly any provincial maiden but regardless, he'll be very hard to beat in a similar race next time out.
