Saturday Skies pressed forward to sit outside Zedspiel who assumed the front running role. Jockey Daniel Ganderton made a tactical move aboard Saturday Skies at the 500m by sprinting quickly to head off Zedspiel and racing to the lead around the turn. His rivals were flat out chasing as Saturday Skies bounded well clear in the straight. He stayed on gamely in the straight to score by one length. Rebelson was positioned midfield and a fraction wide albeit with cover. Once balanced up, Rebelson started to wind up and finished full of running to claim second. Trading Day put up a big effort to come from last. The horse to watch though is the lightly raced Civil Rights who was giving away lots of experience but ran home very well for fourth. *ANZ
