The Victorian-trained filly and favourite Ms Funovits fell on her way to the start, was then in a distressed state and was a late scratching. The promising local filly, Camporella was then promoted to favouritism. That filly began well from her good barrier (1), settled third on the rails before moving up strongly to take the lead at the 200m. She then went away to win comfortably. Trichologist raced in second place behind the leader (Diversicolor), took the lead on straightening and fought on well for second. Yaloginda was back in fourth spot one off the rails to the turn and ran on fairly well in the straight to take third. *ANZ
