Barry Lyons Mdn Plate
Darren Weir-trained filly In Contempt followed her second in an Echuca Maiden, 3YO fillies (1009m) on 22 August on debut with a really promising win here. She soon drove through from her good barrier (2) to settle in second place, before moving up well on straightening. She hit the front at the 200m and despite racing a bit greenly, went on to score comfortably. She is a filly to watch. Team Hawkes-trained filly Terminally Pretty settled back in eighth place, got along the rails rounding the home turn and went through to second at the 200m. She then found the winner a bit too good over the closing stages but battled well for a promising second on debut.
