She was still well back when she switched out wide passing the 300m and commenced a strong finishing run. She swept to the lead at the 50m point and drew away for an impressive first-up win. That’s The One had a good run, about seventh one off the rails. He switched across heels on straightening, challenged at the 100m and then fought on for a good second. Dany The fox was back in eighth place, one off the rails, before getting a run between runners passing the 300m. He got through to fourth at the 100m and then battled on well for a sound first-up third. Serene Star raced in a much more forward position, travelling along well in fourth place but three wide without cover. She challenged (three wide) at the turn, hit the lead at the 200m but tired from the 100m to finish (a length and a half) fourth. *ANZ
