The highly promising three-year-old Not Listenin’tome scored a brilliant first-up win taking his record to three wins and two seconds from five starts. He was ridden patiently by James McDonald remaining in third place, following a strong early pace (first 600m 34.32). He moved up nearing the 200m and then raced away to an impressive four length win. He looks set for a very good preparation and is a threat in anything he contests. Consorting was well back in sixth place to the 600m where he was giving the leader about seven lengths. He made up good ground in the straight, without having any chance with the winner, to just grab second. It was a nice effort and he should appreciate further. Thermal Current chased the leader (Cruden Bay) to the turn, got to the front at the 300m and then battled on well for a sound third. Fast ‘n’ Rocking was fourth most of the way and held that position to the post after appearing to have every chance while Lion Of Belfort was also a handy fifth most of the way and retained that position. *ANZ
