Deploy took his record to six wins and six placings from 13 starts in taking out his first Group success here. He was smartly away from his wide barrier (10) and he then settled well outside the leader (Perfect Dare). He challenged on straightening, got to a narrow lead at the 200m and after looking in danger, lifted in the closing stages to win well. The top weight (59kg) Dothraki had a good trip in third place, tracking the leaders. He looked the winner when he challenged on passing the 200m and then fought well for a good second, whom he conceded 6kg. Perfect Dare led the field until turning for home and held on well for a good third. The Virginian raced in fourth place (on the rails), angled into clear running on turning for home and then kept battling on quite well for (2.7 lengths) fourth after seeming to have every chance.
