Mr Marbellouz added win eight from 15 starts and his maiden stakes success with a last gasp effort here. He was slow to begin but soon sped forward to take up a nice position at the 800m. Inside the 600m he went wider and moved up to challenge the first two before taking over second at the top of the straight. Under a hard ride he kept finding but didn't catch the leader until two strides off the post then dove at the line to win a head-bobber by a short half-head. Sony Legend sat outside the lead from the 600m, took over at the top of the straight and ran clear. He looked the winner at the 100m but was nabbed a stride from the line. The first two were well clear. No Annamossity was last (rails) turning in then finished well along the inner for third.
