A close three way finish that was ultimately decided in the stewards room with the first past the post Sea Moon being demoted to second with Araldo promoted to first. Araldo sustained a long wide run and despite laying in and being very tired late he kept finding the line to only be nosed out late. The stewards decided that the late interference caused by Sea Moon on his outside was significant enough to reverse the placing. Sea Moon was good today. He settled well back and also sustained a long and wide run. He was a little wayward in the straight but he battled hard to get up right on the line. The third horse Gotta Take Care ran very well in defeat. He settled seventh one off the fence chasing the fast early pace. He loomed up and hit the front before being challenged late by the first two home. It was very tight over the concluding stages and he foot on strongly to only go under narrowly. *ANZ
