Zoustar raced a little keenly back in eighth place, in the centre of the track, to the 800 metre marker. He made his move on nearing the 400 metres mark, loomed at the 200 metre marker and then raced away for another impressive win, his third in succession and his second at Group One level. Not Listenin’tome travelled well in fifth place before moving up strongly approaching the 300 metre point to challenge shortly afterwards. He found the winner too good in the closing stages but he did exceptionally well to hold second, going from winning a Maiden 3YO on debut at Bendigo seven weeks ago to being placed in Group One at Flemington. Lion Of Belfort was back in 11th place to the 400 metres mark and impressed running on well for third while Villa Verde came from tenth at the 400 metre marker for a very good, late-closing fourth. In was a very smart effort. Sidestep led the field to the 400 metre mark before finishing sixth. *ANZ
