The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained mare Artistry settled in ninth place from her wide barrier (11) before improving (wide with cover) nearing the home turn. She then sprinted quickly (in the centre of the track) to challenge at the 100m and finished too well to score a very smart win, her seventh in 19 starts to date. Shillelagh settled near the tail of the field from her wide barrier (13), got along the rails from the 800m and went through to third with 300m to run. She then kept fighting on nicely to hold that position to the post. Silent Sedition was a handy fifth, one off the rails, challenged at the 200m and kept battling well to take the minor placing. A Lotta Love raced back in 12th place (wide with cover). Improved deep at the home turn and then ran on really well for a closeup fourth. The Bjorn Baker-trained mare Egyptian Symbol worked from her wide barrier (16) to find the lead. She then led the field until passing the 200m before holding on well for (1.4 lengths) fifth in a nice effort after considering her early efforts.
