Dances On Stars came from an impossible position in the run racing well out of his ground and very wide to swoop late with a big run on the outside to register a very good victory. Dances On Stars raced in ninth position three wide over a dozen lengths from the leader Trombone Alley who ran the field along at a fast pace. He appeared to be a beaten horse on the home turn on the extreme outside of the field but he wound up with a big finish and raced away to score well. Final Crescendo raced in third position on the back of the leaders. He was taken to the middle of the track in the straight and took a little while to balance up and come with his run. He could not match the turn of foot of Dances On Stars but battled gamely to the line, to only be defeated a length. Benny’s Button settled in second position behind the leader. He challenged for the lead at the top of the straight before hitting the front at the 200m. He battled on gamely but tired a little late to hold on for third. Belltone finished on fairly well late for fourth after being held up for a run at the top of the straight. *ANZ
