A close finish to this interesting 3YO Maiden Plate with less than a length separating the first five horses. Berisha did not show much early pace and settled sixth, one off the rails. He improved nicely (wide) approaching the home turn, was under riding on straightening but responded gamely to win by a short head. The Peter Moody-trained Roundabout was fifth on the rails, improved between runners nearing the turn, finally got a split at the 100m and battled well to just miss in a photo. Florelle, a three-year-old filly making her debut, was back in eighth place, moved up wide out coming to the home turn and fought on particularly well (wide out) for a close third, putting up a promising effort. The Godolphinraced Monochrome was fourth, one out and one back, challenged on straightening for battled on for a close fourth after having every chance while the Greg Eurell-trained Bushfield raced behind the leader, challenged at the 150m and fought on for a close-up fifth on debut.
