He was under pressure at the 100m but responded well to score by a half neck, putting up a sound first-up effort. Grane settled second last in the nine-horse field and tracked up the favourite Nordic Empire on passing the 600m. He got to fourth at the 100m and then finished really well for (half neck) second. Override led the field until half-way down the straight and held on quite well for third.
