David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained filly Athena Lass put up a very promising effort in winning here on debut. She began well and showed good pace from her good barrier (2) before easing to race outside the leader (Hot Seat). She easily went to the front nearing the home turn and then fought back well after her early effort to score a very smart win. She looks a good filly with a bright future. Hay Bale was back in fourth place, behind the solid pace, got to third (under riding) at the home turn and finished well for a good second.
