Second favourite Lake Sententia ($3.60) was midfield and wide without cover, then moved up at the 1600m due to the slow early pace (still three wide) to be more handily placed about fifth. She made a quick run nearing the home turn, drew clear at the 200m then fought back gamely to win narrowly but well. The favourite Epingle ($3.50) settled near last on the rails in the 15-horse field. She improved along the rails from the 800m, switched out to be about seventh at the 200m and came with a late bid, failing by only a long neck for second at the post. The outsider Oui Si Attitude was ninth between runners from the 800m, eased wide on straightening, and ran on well for a close third narrowly beating Blue Ribbon who battled on nicely for fourth. *ANZ
