Forever Discreet broke through for her first win in seven starts, albeit narrowly, in good style in stakes class. She was eased from her outside barrier (8) and was last early before improving to settle sixth on the rails. She was ridden hard nearing the home turn but she responded and drove through along the rails to hit the lead at the 300m. She then held on grimly to score by a neck. The David Hayes-trained filly Star Fashion was last in the eight-horse field most of the way to the home turn. She switched wide on turning for home and finished fast for a late-closing second to just miss in a photo. It was a very good effort and she remains a maiden after three starts, though it should not be for much longer before she wins. Our Paradigm travelled well in fifth place one off the rails before putting in a run at the turn. She challenged at the 200m and kept fighting on well for a sound third. The Peter Moody-trained Sensibility raced outside the leader to the turn, challenged at the 200m and then held on for fourth beaten just under two lengths after having every chance. *ANZ
