He travelled well, midfield between runners, but was briefly held up for a run nearing the 600m. Sertorius was a handy fifth to the 600m, put in a run on straightening and kept battling on for third. Brigantin was handy all the well and fought on for (5.6 lengths) fourth while Epingle made ground from second last in the 17-horse field at the turn to finish (6.6 lengths) for fifth.
