Extreme Choice was most impressive, winning here on debut and in fast time (56.85). He was a bit slow to move but showed very good early pace and drove through from his good barrier (3) to share the lead (on the rails). He raced a bit greenly when challenged at the 200m, running about a bit but recovered and drew clear in the closing stages to win decisively. He looks a quality colt with a bright future. So Serene also showed good early pace to race outside the leader. She briefly looked a threat when she challenged strongly at the 200m and then fought gamely for a very good second, just finding the winner too classy in a really promising effort also on debut. Rampage raced in eighth place, between runners, ran about a bit as he got into clear running at the 300m and then finished on quite well to take the minor placing in a sound effort at his first Sydney start. Too Fast For Love drifted back from her inside barrier (1) and settled back in 12th place. She saved ground along the rails nearing the home turn, got to fourth at the 200m and battled on to hold that position to the post. Jeanneau was trapped deep for her awkward barrier (10) and eased to settle beyond midfield. She switched deep on straightening was hindered at the 200m and made good late ground for (7.4 lengths) fifth after a difficult trip. Favourite Credible Witness had a good run from barrier two, racing in fifth place on the rails. He went to third at the 200m but then weakened to finish (11 lengths) tenth in a disappointing effort.
