In Her Time scored a very smart first up win, her sixth in 15 starts and her third at Group Two level. She began well from her inside barrier (1), settled in fifth place on the rails, went through to be behind the leader (Ball Of Muscle) nearing the home turn, took the lead at the 100m and the fought gamely for a very good win. English was ridden quietly, settled in second last place in the 11-horse field, saved ground on the inner at the home turn before switching deeper nearing the 200m and the sprinted quickly. She challenged at the 50m and fought very well for second in a very smart second up performance. Clearly Innocent raced back in eighth place on the rails, stuck to the inner rounding the home turn, went to fifth at the 100m and kept running on well for a good third in a really good first up run. Takedown raced outside the leader (Ball Of Muscle) and kept fighting on gamely in the straight to finish (1.6 lengths) fourth, finishing just in front of Ball Of Muscle who held on for (2.2 lengths) fifth. Favourite and six-time Group One winner Chautauqua was back in last place as expected, but was under pressure when pace picked up from the 600m. He went deep at the 200m and responded with a late-closing (2.8 lengths) sixth in a sound second up performance.
