The top weight Abbasso was ridden patiently by Tye Angland and travelled well in sixth place, one off the rails to the 600m. He moved up nicely shortly after turning for home, then came with a well-timed run to hit the lead at the 100m and proved too good, winning nicely by a neck at the post. Black Revolver was last in the seven-horse field before switching out wide at the 200m. He then ran on (late) for second, beaten a neck. Mamwaazel led and steadied the pace before grabbing a break shortly after turning for home. She was only headed at the 100m and then held on quite well for third. *ANZ
