Plucky Belle came from fifth last between runners in the run before weaving a way through between runners to dive late to score a narrow upset victory. The race was run a good pace set by Tarloshan and Thump setting it up for the back markers and with only one kilogram over the limit weight Plucky Belle prevailed in a tight finish with the first six home only separated by a length. First Seal had no luck at all from her wide barrier settling three wide with a trail in fifth position. The cornered for home on the outside of the field and came with an ominous looking run. She finished on gamely but was grabbed right on the line. A game effort especially considering that she was conceding weight to an older mare. Diamond Drille raced on the back of First Seal in the run. She finished on strongly late to just go under, a really good effort in defeat. Amicus when much better today She settled in third position on the back of the speed. She had her chance in the straight and battled on really well to just miss the minor placing. Hera raced on the inside of the winner. They made their runs together in the straight and she battled on really well to also just miss a minor placing a good effort. Arabian Gold settled down in second last position one off the fence. She disappointed for a run at the top of the straight and switched back towards the fence. She was once again held up between horses at the 250m and it was only in the final 100m she found some clear running back towards the fence. She finished on really well and should have gone close to winner.
