Three-year-old filly Northern Cath ($3 fav), from the Darren Weir stable, followed up her recent promising win at Sandown Lakeside track with another good win here. She began well and settled nicely in third place. She moved up shortly after turning for home, challenged at the 300m, took a little while to wind-up in the sprint home and gradually drew clear to score by three quarters of a length. She looks a nice filly. Written went to the front, set a moderate tempo before increasing her lead nearing the turn. She then fought on well when challenged for a good second. *ANZ
