The Godolphin-raced colt Astley, with placings in three of his four starts since resuming this preparation, broke through for his first win in good style here. He was a bit slow to move, recovered to settle in sixth place, improved (between runners) nearing the home turn, took the lead on passing the 300m and then went on to win quite impressively.
