Timeless Prince was back in last place in the ten-horse field to the 600m before moving up (deep) rounding the home turn. He then put in a good run in the centre of the track, coming with a late bid to miss narrowly miss in a photo finish but was later awarded the race on protest due to interference at the 200m point. Pillar Of Creation was first past the post but was relegated on protest due to running about at the 200m. He settled in sixth place, between runners, saved ground on the inner at the home turn, went to third at the 200m and came with a late run and was first past the past, by a very narrow margin. Mischievous Devil had a good trip in third place on the rails, got an inside run to take the lead on straightening and looked the winner when still well clear at the 100m. He was only overhauled in the last few strides for a close-up third.
