Improvise began as well as any then settled fourth one off the fence at the 1200m. She lost a spot but no ground at the 800m and just prior to straightening lay fifth, ready to pounce. Jockey Damian Browne had to avoid heels then pulled her wider to find racing room, balanced then went after the leaders. She burst through at the 150m and was travelling best at the line by a neck for win two (maiden stakes) from nine starts. A good finish from La Scopa who was well back turning in and accelerated quickly to challenge on the outer but could not get past the winner. Skate To Paris looked the winner at the 200m but had no response afterwards, holding on for third from Protest who, from well back, flashed along the fence to nab a good fourth.
