Victorian raider and favourite Jamaican Rain bounded clear inside the 200m for the easiest of wins, her third on the trot, sixth in total and maiden stakes win from just 11 starts. She challenged for the early lead but had to settle for the trail, a half length back and one out. Holding her position around the bend and into the straight jockey Tegan Harrison had not moved and they ranged alongside the leader then took command at the 250m where Harrison gave her a shake and she bounded away, clearing out by four lengths for an impressive win. Privlaka had four behind him at the 600m and was widest into the last corner, balanced then kept up a solid run, nailing down second just short of the line. River Racer was a handy third turning in and took over second at the 100m then was passed late for third. From well back, Denmagic lunged into fourth late and wide.
