After finished no further back than fourth in his first three starts, the Chris Waller-trained colt Sambro was quite impressive in winning here. He was smartly away from barrier nine and settled particularly well in third place behind a reasonable tempo (first 800m 48.80) before moving up nearing the home turn. He took the lead at the 200m and went on to score easily, looking suited to further. Icon Of Dubai was back in eighth place, made a very wide move coming to the home turn, got to third at the 200m and fought on well for a good second at his third race start. The top weight (59kg) Padraig led the field until nearing the 200m before holding on nicely for third at his first run this preparation.
