The Les Bridge-trained Pelorus Jack following his promising win in a 3YO Maiden (1300m) at this track on 3 May with a narrow but good win advancing to 1600m here. He settled back in seventh place on the rails before getting through on the inner on straightening. He hit the front at the 50m and then held on well to win in a photo. The Chris Waller-trained Walk The Streets raced in fifth place (on the rails) but was held up between runners on turning for home. He then got a late split at the 100m and came with a late run for the narrowest of seconds in a promising run at his second start this preparation.
