Slow Pace put up a solid staying effort to score in the Heavy10 conditions. He settled in fourth place behind a very steady pace, before making a quick move to race outside the leader (Halfway To Heaven) at the 1000m. He got to the front on straightening and then lifted gamely when challenged to score a very good win. Sacred Master was always handily placed before moving up well (three wide) nearing the home turn. He challenged at the home turn and then fought well in the straight for a good second. Get On The Grange was a handy third on the rails, got through on the inner to challenge on straightening. He then battled well for a good third, albeit after having every chance. Loophole raced in fifth place, but trapped wide without cover. He was under riding (wide out) at the home turn and then kept battling on well for fourth, while Alegria was back in second last place in the ten-horse field, made a wide move coming to the home turn and then battled on in the straight for fifth.
