The Joe Pride-trained filly Springer put up a nice effort in winning here on debut. She settled in fourth place, tracking the leaders, responded to riding to take a split on straightening, took the lead at the 100m and then held on to win nicely. The James Cummings-trained filly Seeblume did not show any early pace, settled in seventh place on the rails. She was under pressure at the home turn, got between runners at the 150 and caught the eye in running on late for second, putting up a promising first up effort at only her second start. She should appreciate further.
