This G2 3yo over 1400m race saw a total on pace finish with a big striding The Justice League scoring a deserved win. The gelding has had all sorts of bad luck from poor draws and a nasty fall so when he got up outside the leader on a sedate run race the rest were in trouble as class then matters. He gained the upper hand the final 100m to win by half a head in 1:24.04 so it was no wonder nothing had any hope from the midfield or further back. It was his third win in ten starts and second blacktype win with a Listed success last Spring to go with the G2 today. Glorious Beijing trailed the leaders to the home turn and ran on solidly for second while the pacemaker He’s An Ace set the pace and fought well once headed at the 100m. Deedee Panache and Lucky Seven fought on fairly while the two noticed running on were Ruud Not Too and Shadows Cast. Lauberhorn had a nightmare wide run so did well to be only beaten five and a half lengths but perhaps the slow time overall had something to do with that too. Marky Mark was poor and will be spelled as he has not come up this time in. Bella Court can be forgiven as she got pole-axed at the 100m when Shadows Cast was angled out abruptly. The rest got beaten ten lengths or more and either found the footing too firm for their liking or in a sprint home race were left floundering and flat-footed. The Justice League has more wins in store but this was not a G2 strength field at all and contained more wet weather types than top of the ground gallopers. Ruud Not Too and Bella Court can be backed with confidence next time seen out and both are very competitive against their own sex.
