Once again the Dolphins have started the season well, winning five of their opening eight games to take them to fourth spot on the ladder.

A top-four finish would a huge achievement for them in just their second season in the NRL and they can be backed at 7.00 to stay there.

The Sea Eagles, who are one point and one place below them, are priced at 3.50 to make the top four and 19.00 to go on and win the grand final.

Thursday night's clash at Suncorp is a big one for both sides, particularly the Sea Eagles, who need to respond to a round-nine defeat.

Dolphins are on a roll

The Dolphins have won their last three games on the bounce and will be looking to make it four against the Sea Eagles.

After smashing Parramatta Eels 44-16, the Dolphins then edged out the Newcastle Knights and North Queensland Cowboys by just two points to take the wins.

Another tight one could be on the cards against the Sea Eagles and the Dolphins can be backed at 7.50 to win by 1-5 points.

However, Suncorp has not been a happy venue for the Dolphins this season, losing three from four, but one of those was as the away team against Brisbane Broncos.

Wayne Bennett's men will still be out to improve their form at Suncorp, where Jamayne Isaako has scored seven tries in his last seven games there.

The winger is sure to be a big threat once again, as Jake Averillo will be after scoring three tries in the last three games.

Manly looking to bounce back

The Sea Eagles have been going well, but need to bounce back following a shock home defeat against Canberra Raiders last Friday evening.

Manly looked to be cruising to victory when leading 20-0, but they let the Raiders back in, and the green machine left 4 Pines Park with a 26-24 win.

It is important they put that result behind them quickly and respond in style.

They also have to overcome a poor record at Suncorp that has seen them concede 109 points over the last three games there.

The two sides only met once in 2023 and that was in Manly, where the Sea Eagles won by 40 points.

Thursday evening will be a much bigger test, but Manly can still be backed at 3.40 to win by 1-12 points.

Reuben Garrick continues to shine for the Sea Eagles, scoring two tries and kicking two conversions against the Raiders.

That takes his points tally to 42 in the last three games and he is set to be a big player once again at Suncorp.
