Ridden by regular jockey Ryan Curatolo, Sweet Korean sealed victory with a quick turn of foot inside the two hundred to pinch a winning break, and had enough in reserve to hold off the fast finishing The Alfonso (Peter Ho) to win by a length at the wire.

Sweet Korean clocked a personal best of 1.8.01 for the 1200 metre trip on the good track bettering his previous best for the distance by .08 of a second.

Sweet Korean commenced his racing career at the Gold Coast for Gillian Heinrich racing there as Dueced, where he won a maiden at the Gold Coast and placed twice at Eagle Farm.

A son of the G2 winner Wilander, Sweet Korean started his winning run on the turf in Macau in May with a win in Class 4 on a mark of 58. After yesterday’s victory the gelding has risen to 99 points in the ratings.

Second placed The Alfonso who jumped race favorite lost no admirers coming back in distance from his previous 1400 metre win.

The six year old entire powered home from well back and looks unbeatable when he next steps back up in trip to a 1500 metres Class 1 event on October 22nd.

Top weight Wonder Mossman struggled in the run and did not show his customary dazzling speed early, whilst former New Zealand G1 performer Allez Eagle ended up posted deep from his wide gate and faded on the straight to finish well back.

Ryan Curatolo took riding honors for the day when he made it a winning double for the afternoon in the very next race the Class 3 & 4 over 1100 metres on Felizmaster for trainer K H Leong.

Felizmaster overcame a check in the early part of the race to flash home wide out and snatch a last stride victory by a neck from Exceedingly Dragon (Peter Ho), with Lobor Treasure (Cliffy Lai) in third.

Curatolo almost made it three for the afternoon when he was beaten into second place on Golden Kalbar in the first of the day.

The first race of the season a Class 4 & 5 over 1200 metres was taken out by the Stanley Chin trained Stallion Elite ridden by Cliffy Lai.

Stallion Elite overcame a wide draw and a hard run to eventually lead down the side and just kept on running to win easily.

Saturdays feature event the Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YO’s in Training Sale Trophy was won in good fashion by the Alan Tam trained Galaxy Supreme ridden by Akash Aucharuz.

Sent straight to the front soon after the start Galaxy Supreme was then taken on by race favorite Tous Sweet for the most part of the race.

Galaxy Supreme appeared to be on one rein for the greater part of the race however despite racing very greenly, he was able to kick away for a good win over Surdmaster (Wayne Smith) who ran on well for second, with Tous Sweet (Curatolo) weakening away into third.

Galaxy Supreme, a son of Alamosa, was a $NZ62,500 purchase at the 2014 Karaka Ready To Run Sale and became the 21st individual winner out of the first lot of Online Sales held by the Macau Jockey Club.

Of the 31 horses to race from the 2014 Online Sales there have been 21 individual winners that have won a total of 47 races, and have returned over $9 million HKD in prize money to their owners.

Both Surdmaster (2nd ) and Tous Sweet (3rd) are products of the Magic Millions 2015 Gold coast 2Y0’s in training sale. From a handful of those to race as yet Tous Sweet and Tak Fai Of Pins have already been winners.

The Online Sales have been a great innovation by the MJC and this year the sales kick off with the Ready To Race Sales in Sydney on October 4, followed by the Magic Millions Gold Coast 2Y0s in Training Sale on the October 11 and 12 with the Karaka Ready To Run Sale to be held on November 16 and 17.
