Speedy three-year-old colt Kuroshio began brilliantly from his wide barrier (9) in the ten-horse field and immediately crossed to the lead. He then travelled strongly in front, pinched a break nearing the home turn and never looked in any serious danger in the straight, scoring by just under two lengths. Moment Of Change drove through from his inside barrier (1) and settled behind the leader. He was urged to improve as he moved into second place at the turn but he just kept battling on in the straight to hold that position at the post after having every chance. It was his first run since May and he obviously should benefit from the run. General Truce raced in eighth place, one off the rails, before fanning wide approaching the home turn. He then made up ground in the straight, putting up a good effort to take third. Consistent mare Platelet was eased to settle in sixth place, one off the rails. She switched wide nearing the home turn and then kept fighting on for fourth, beaten just under three lengths in a nice first-up effort. *ANZ
