The starter caught them well and C’est Beau La Vie bounced as well as any but drifted to midfield (rails) by the 1000m. Saving precious ground she poked up in behind the leaders just before the last corner and on straightening found room four off the fence. Passing the 200m, in a few strides she levelled up and with less than a hundred left was punched out to win by three quarters of a length. Comprende tracked the winner around the bend and into the straight but switched to the inner to make her run, finding space at the 200m and finishing well to dead heat for second. Sailing By was third, three wide passing the 600m and into the straight took over the lead. She led by a length at the 200m but soon after was passed by the winner, holding on well to dead heat for second.
